Crimson Kaie

Promoting exciting artists from around the world

A Century Gone

About 10 days ago we featured the 100th artist of the day on Crimson Kaie.

Since starting the site in March there has been a great increase in interest and even though I haven’t had a great deal of time to promote the site – audience figures have been doubling every month.

It’s interesting how a concept develops. Crimson Kaie was inspired by an email exchange I had with a young British artist who I accosted on the web. I thought that her work was fantastic but she only had limited exposure of it so the prices she was selling for were very low.

I thought it would be great to have a site where emerging artists could showcase their work and receive some recognition for it.

Very soon after the first version of the site (cream template… I think) was created. I had a few artist friends so they were the first to be included. Afterwards artists were invited to take part and now that the site has gained some momentum only around 50% are from invitations with the rest from submissions.

For an art lover, the site has been a pleasure to develop and update. I’m glad that it hasn’t missed a day and the format has matured to include these weekend features like the interviews, opinions an artist of the week segment.

We’ll see how the site continues. My free time is becoming more and more scarce so I’m not sure how long I can maintain the 1/day, 5/week features without the help of anyone else.. so if there are any aspiring art writers/art editors who would like to join in do get in touch.

Just to end with a big thanks to all of the artists who have taken part so far and all of the artists how will take part in the coming days and weeks.
